Brooklands school to be replaced with care flats

Surprised a diseased tree has to go on the old Brooklands site . I now of a few old relics that are diseased they are still in office and making decisions in this County and for far too long

I walked past last night and that tree is a big loss to the view along the Eccleshall Road. I was discussing with my daughter how grim the urban environment would be without trees in people's front gardens and frontages alongside roads.

I sometimes think my trees are a pain in the butt, having to pay to have them trimmed each year, but I wouldn't want them not to be there they do add character to the garden and house and attract the wild life, I love to see the squirrel stealing the nuts I put out for the birds, then the cat chasing after him as he shoots up the tree, cat has no chance of catching him.

It's the bigger picture as well, the whole view of any tree lined road would be so different if it was a jumble of houses with no greenery and trees, and then there are the environmental benefits to the atmosphere in cities of urban trees.

Like I saw on FB the other day, if trees provided a wifi & phone signal we'd be planting them like mad, too bad they only give us the oxygen we breath!!!

I noticed a lot of tree line has gone from the new Creswell Manor development up by the M6 alongside the Eccleshall Road

That was uneccesary

And I'm told The Green opposite Tillington Hall Hotel is to be built on

Lots of changes up that end of the town now that the river has been diverted up Crab Lane . Apparently the beer has tasted of it for a while

66 old people wanted

Must have 210,000 pounds

Excellent views over Doxey Heights

And the man who shouts at trains

Looking across the Marshes from upon Doxey Heights I note the former school for the wealthy is almost completely flattened now

I suspect the apartments overlooking Doxey will sell out rapidly given that they may occasionally glimpse a man shouting at the trains

Or Prime Real Estate as it is often described

I see that most of the roof has gone today, & there's a large trench where the carpark used to be....
