It's private land, bugger all the council can do about itStafford people need to stand up to the council, a mss demonstration like for the hospital, refuseing to pay your community charge, if a enough people had the balls it would make them notice, they do not like losing money, finally if all else fails at vote of no confidence in our council, it is such a shame that they care so little about the small local shops that would rely on that car park, Petition might work but normally ignored, has anybody thought of moving the cons maybe if enough people did it what could they do.
I think they probably could. It's private land, bugger all the council can do about it
How? Compulsory purchase the car park with taxpayers money?I think they probably could.
I don't know, i don't work for the council. How? Compulsory purchase the car park with taxpayers money?
Silly meI don't know, i don't work for the council.
You did expect me to ack up my argument with knowledge, did you?
Ha, nah not silly you, just that, well i'm not happy that we've been left with a development that promised us the world (a Morrisons to be more precise) and nothing was delivered, other than empty units, a carpark that can't be used and business' around that side of town clearly suffering.Silly me
We could have had a referendum on it.......Ha, nah not silly you, just that, well i'm not happy that we've been left with a development that promised us the world (a Morrisons to be more precise) and nothing was delivered, other than empty units, a carpark that can't be used and business' around that side of town clearly suffering.
An idea would have been to have kept the land in our hands and we decide what it is used for and we dictate to the developers exactly what we want and they dance to our tune!
...that's all.
Three units, two 'interested' parties. Depending on just how 'interested' they are, then at best there will be one empty unit. If they are 'interested' in the way Morrisons was, then there will be three empty units. And a beautifully laid out, perfectly gritted, car park. With a security fence all round it to stop anyone getting in.I thought this was covered further up. They have applied to split the unit into 3. As far as I am aware they have 2 interested parties. The handover of contracts was only December was it finalised? The car park is private so not a lot the council can do about it.
That's the CC Highways Department for you. Never knowingly don't waste money is their motto, I believe. Can't believe it was gritted! That's hilarious!
"They"?They even gritted it a few days ago.
You're right. - I should have said "It was even gritted a few days ago.""They"?
They'll be done for trespassing! You're right. - I should have said "It was even gritted a few days ago."
BTW, the photos aren't mine. They're 2 of 5 that were taken by a friend who then posted them on Facebook.
