ASDA introducing Pay and display parking

There were big posters stuck up right next to the main doors before the meters were installed, and the signs have been up for a couple of days. I'm sorry but ignorance is no excuse to shout at someone else. Especially someone that had no say in the decision and even less say in the implementation.
I would hope there is a period of grace before issuing fines. Maybe a warning notice on cars that weren't displaying tickets for a couple of weeks.

Absolutely, I don't remember seeing any yellow fines stuck on windscreens. I would hope the abundance of yellow-jacketed parking attendants are telling people that this week they're getting some leeway but they need to pay next time.

Do you have to punch in your reg number when buying the ticket and therefore managed by cameras?

I think it's pay and display, so any fines will probably get stuck on windscreens.

Two weeks before Christmas, Saturday afternoon, and the county town is empty, even with free parking. Must be a message there somewhere.

I don't know what time you were there but It took me 25 minutes to get from Newport Road to Greyfriars at approx 12.15.

It was rammed.

Just what one would expect of the county town two weeks before Christmas.

Town centre was absolutely chocca this afternoon. Even the rain didn't seem to be putting people off.

They are representatives of the company, therefore it is reasonable for the public to interact with them. It is the company's fault if they only make junior staff available.
I disagree, they are nmw staff with no say in matters. It's obviously nowt to do with them, it is obvious they have no influence, hell I doubt the decision was even made by Stafford management. You may as well kick off at the m&S cleaner because this year's Xmas advert was a bit poncy.

It seems that SBC are listing privately-owned car parks that are publically available at a cost. Asda and Tesco were supposed to be just for their customers and not available as public car parks - although we all know what happened.
As I said.

The M&S cleaner has no involvement with the Christmas advert so that analogy is irrelevant.
However the car park attendants are representatives of the company managing the car park. It is the company's fault, not the customers', if they are too junior to speak in behalf of the company and the attendants should take it up with their bosses. However they are the only contact the customer has got, so it is perfectly reasonable for unhappy customers to take up issues with them. There is nobody else.

Asda only officially made the carpark public in December SBC list was released in November I expect the next time it's updated it will be included

Sorry, I thought we were talking about the people pushing trolleys? I'm yet to see a parking attendant there.

EDIT: I'll also add if I see someone giving the asda staff a hard time rather than the parking attendants then in my eyes they are fair game for a bit of verbal abuse themselves which I shall happily provide. Also I believe there are signs as you enter the car park? Is it their fault you can't read? In my eyes this whole thing is hysterical, nobody that shops at asda loses out at all unless you don't pay attention to the very obvious and numerous signs. If you do its on you, should be more observant, they are more prominent than any other P&D car park round here.

Is Tesco car park "customer only"? I haven't been there since 2010.

Why should anybody have an issue with the Asda car park attendants? Has anybody been 'booked' yet?

I really do wish you would take the trouble to read the full thread sequence rather than just taking the easy way out and jumping on the first post you see. I was responding to an earlier post, if you can be bothered to read back.

But you said town was empty, and town wasn't empty? It has already been said in this thread that SBC car parks were free today (if you can be bothered to read back) so why would anyone be on Sainsburys? I didn't know this, hence me making assumptions which were incorrect and therefore had to acknowledge I was misinformed, but making a comment like this I'd assumed you'd actually read the thread and would therefore understand why the one car park mentioned wasn't busy.
