Rugby Club progress...

WoolmanT: 100% agree there is no need for anyone to be abusive. I find it an unnecessary hazard which gets in the way of people discussing issues in a way which leads to better understanding one with another.

As regards club traffic, I don't think the Council ever wanted to drill down too deeply and ask questions. They needed the club to get the site as much as the club did. They discounted inconvenient objections- their own Biodiversity Officer and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

Well, I hope you are right (I live on the estate) but I fear you are wrong.

Right now I would like to be a UKIP supporting Republican rugby enthusiast- I would be a good deal happier if I were! But as yet can't tick any of those boxes!

Thanks Resident. I can assure you that of the boxes above, the only one I tick is rugby enthusiast......Republican / UKIP, couldn't be further away from where I'm at. Give rugby a try, you may like it!

I also hope that I'm right re the traffic.....if we are wrong, as neighbours, we meet, we discuss and work towards a solution.....we don't want to be bad neighbours.

Well you are a rugby fan/player/club member/whatever, so you are well used to strong language. Yet when it's used in conjunction with criticism of this appalling decision and one of the key players involved you come across all prissy.

Give it a rest and grow a pair eh.

Nothing to do with that Proactive (behind you with a big stick?), in our opinion it's an excellent decision that has time and again been approved, protests declined in court. Why go down the path of name calling? Prissy? No. Grow a pair? I did a long time ago.

Twats, c*nts? Wow, some nice people on here!

Hopefully it will be a lasting legacy, a first class sporting facility in Stafford, used for a variety of sports not just rugby.

It's all positive, it's all good news......can't wait for it to be built. Hoorah!

I can, really resent the rugby club for the damage being done on the marshes. There was a perfectly good facility at the uni going begging but instead they build right up against an sssi. Screw them, I'll never support anything they do.

The only lasting legacy is the loss of beautiful ancient meadowland, badgers, mature trees, hedges and various other nature to the people of Stafford in exchange for traffic, floodlights, tarmac, chemicals for the grass and the whole area fenced off. As far as I'm concerned tw*ts and c*nts would not be strong enough words. I hope the whole area floods and the geese shit all over your disgusting destruction of an open peaceful space....and if the floodlights could get shot out weekly that would be ace!

Kyoto49......lot of anger in you my friend! I am sorry for any loss of said beautiful ancient meadowland, badgers (we will aim to relocate), mature trees, hedges but as has been stated on various occasions, we have not had much choice on the location of the new site.....it's available and we need to move. In my opinion, it secures a top rate facility for generations to come......hundreds upon hundreds of kids getting off their Xboxes and running around having fun. What is wrong with that? I appreciate that the location is not to your liking but why be so offensive behind a keyboard warrior name? You hope that the place floods, geese crap everywhere and the floodlights get shot out? Such a positive outlook on life. I only wish you well.

That's proactive with a small 'p', to you.

Why resent the rugby club? We are tenants at our current location, and tenants at the new site. Uni facility going begging? Who was going to pay for that? Screw them? Thank you.

As regional sales manager for Xbox I find your petty name calling to be extremely offensive

I only hope the new Orchard of pear trees you promise to grow will be big enough to screen off your appalling smugness

Yours etc etc

Once upon a time I followed Northampton Saints - had a season ticket for years. What little I have seen of modern rugby is nothing like the way the game was played in those days. Backs used to run with the ball and pass down the 3/4 line. Now it's all kicking.

Sounds as if your moderate use of language isn't approved of by others amongst our future neighbours. We'll probably hear them as they turn out from the club house after a heavy night's drinking.

Sincere apologies for any offence caused John, certainly not intended.

Talking of pears, I have mainly European varieties in my orchard (Bartlett & D'Anjou) but I have heard that either hybrid or Asian variants are bigger and therefore a better anti smugness type of pear tree......do you have a preference or pear trees in your orchard that you could maybe lend us?

Yours exceptionally gratefully etc humbly etc

Are you having a laugh? You said you can't wait for the new place, the eagerness does not marry up with merely being tenants forced to move. How long was left on your lease at the old place? You got offered some new facilities and decided they were worth more than letting Stafford keep a little tranquillity in the middle of a rapidly growing urban sprawl. You put the good of the few before the good of the many, you're selfish.

Like I said I can never support anything your club ever does going forward.
