Stafford Cinema - ups & downs.

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
Personally I agree, give me Stafford cinema over the dumps that are Festival Park disgusting and filthy Vue Newcastle some of the audience always seem to want to the main attraction and Walsall Junction 10, when is someone not smoking weed or.dealing drugs on the back row.

I went to see Rogue One New Years Eve and people complained how warm it was ( it was ).

I went tonight to Stafford cinema and I genuinely don't get your complaints. The staff were polite, the seats comfy and the place warm, almost cosy, and I'm quite nesh. Perfectly fit for the purpose of sitting and watching a film for a couple of hours.

What screen was it, the one on the ground floor?

You called it substandard earlier and I'm not sure what u think makes it so, surely a comfy seat and heating is all one needs. It's a dark room for watching a film. End of. Granted the disabled facilities are 20th century, I get that, but it fulfils all other requirements of a cinema imo.
It is substandard especially the lack of disabled facilities.

Accessibility:
Please note Stafford Cinema is an older building and consequently is not fully accessible. There is no lift or accessible toilet in the building.

Screen 1 Four steps up at the entrance. Fire exits are between two and four steps down.

Screens 2 & 3 are up a flight of stairs, with steps inside the auditorium.

The cinema is not suitable for wheelchair users. Those with limited mobility may find they are able to access screen 1. We advise individuals with limited mobility to visit the site first before booking tickets.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Do you really think that is acceptable?

Yes, I accepted the disabled thing already in a previous post, but for an able bodied person why is it substandard, you've still not told me? It's shows films, it provides comfy seats, and it was warm and clean. I'm still not sure what you expect a cinema to provide above that?

No, upstairs
Trips to the cinema are a family thing for me with a six year old. Screen 1 downstairs means the little one sitting on a plastic seat riser as the seating is too shallow and using the screens upstairs the seating (in my experience) means you sit at an angle to the screen and have poor leg room, not conducive for enjoying a film given you can't reserve seats)

We're going to Cineworld in Stoke on Saturday morning to watch the Lego Batman film. For the 3 of us its £5 cheaper in total, and we can choose our seats so the little one doesn't have to sit on a piece of plastic for a couple of hours. The Stafford cinema also don't do their "films for kids on a weekend" anymore....

We usually go to the Vue cinema in Newcastle but over Christmas a last minute decision to see a film combined with available showing times meant we visited Stafford cinema for the first time in about 15 years.
We won't be returning
It was cold, expensive considering the difference in service and experience we're used to and the seats were ridiculously uncomfortable

Nu stuff muss b betta than old stuff, u no, kus its #nu 'init.

What most complaints about something perfectly adequate, boil down to.

Cold, cramped, uncomfortable and grubby. Is that enough for you?

And damp! Every time I have been with the kids recently, the floor by our feet has been soaking wet. Not a spilled drink, literally the entire front row of the floor where we were sitting was soaking. No good for small kids at a kids movie and meant we had to pile coats, bags etc onto the chairs around is - no mean feat given they're the old fashioned flip up style!

There's quite a bit of roofing felt hanging down the side of the cinema, on the alleyway side - that won't help the dampness issue, I fear.
