Whilst Mr Marwood is somewhat prone to flippancy, broadly speaking what he says is factual. The Tories have committed to enacting proposals in the Naylor review that hospitals will only be able to access government capital investment funds (for things like new MRI scanners) if they raise money by selling off property assets. Hospitals who shift assets quickly will be rewarded with a government bonus to equal value of what they raise, but because that is offered on a first come, first served basis hospitals will be incentivised to sell below market rates in order to get some of that money while it's still there. Hospitals who don't draw up "far reaching" plans to sell property will have other channels of funding restricted.
So basically, if you need an MRI scanner, or a new ward, or a new roof the only way to pay for it will be by flogging something.

Gove would be an universally acceptable choice as sacrificial pawn. Even to Gove.
Gove porn is not something I am prepared to Google. Is that pawn or prawn?
Curious, any Conservative voter out there (on here), cheerful enough to let us know, how they think their/our new government's getting on?

I'm saying that the Labour party should recognise that it best serves its constituents by tapping into the middle ground as Blair tried to do, and as Macron seems to successfully have done in France.
Corbyn and his ilk, it seems, are still stood alongside Michael Foot and determined to refight the 1983 General Election.
