Tonight I ran myself a lush bubble bath, lit a champneys candle, luxuriated for a bit, got out and slathered myself in body shop mango body lotion, put on a face mask and painted my toe nails.

Lovely relaxing bliss.

I'm now going to make myself a camomile tea and climb into bed with Anthony Horowitz.

Details!!

Which Lush bubble bar??? X

The pink and white one in the middle, I don't know what it called. My son bought me a selection of gorgeous goodies for my birthday.

You maybe interested to know that sleepy is now available all year round and not just for Christmas.

Yup! I already have a pot - it's lovely but not one of my faves!

You may be interested to know that Twilight Body Spray which shares the same scent is now available online and in some stores! X

Wondering if the lounge full of sons stuff that I brought back from his last house (and bags more essentials that I've also added to the pile) is going to all fit inside my little car tonight, ready to take back down to his new house tomorrow. Haven't got the passenger seat free this journey either, as hubby is coming along for the ride :hmm: (He thinks I'm joking when I say he's got to sit with everything piled on top of him.....I forecast :blah::blah: all the way down the motorway :D )

Leave the duvet until last and wrap it round his head.

Son kept his big double duvet etc at his temporary home, and walked half an hour down the road with it today to his new house (got his keys this lunchtime, and was working later so couldn't wait for me to go tonight to help ). Wonder what the new neighbours thought when he rolled up with it over his shoulders

Actually got everything squashed into the car like a jigsaw, including 2 big clothes maids and a massive full length mirror along with all the other stuff. As well as frozen food to go in, just some plants for hubby to avoid putting his size 9's on as they are going under his legs in the passenger footwell :)

Got one excited son and girlfriend, and I can't wait to see the house tomorrow :) (Just hoping there is a MASSIVE parking space on the road outside, me and tight parallel parking don't exactly go :hmm: )

Found an old One Penny, cleaned it up a bit to have a better look. Its 1920, don't think it's worth much. Apparently there were 124,000,000 minted between 1911 and 1936.

Not going to outshine the Staffordshire Hoard.

I think this one would struggle to make 45p. I do have a metal detector, I might have another look around the back garden :rich:

I've got a jar full of old pennies (and other old coins) . Will have to get them out and have a look at the dates. All they have done for these last 30 odd years is be taken down when I'm spring cleaning, dusted , and put back up to sit there until the next spring clean

That's probably how the Staffordshire Hoard got started. perhaps you should bury them in the garden.

Anorak moment Pt. 2

Stafford had a Royal Mint from sometime after Æthelfæd until sometime between Henry I and Stephen.

This was, of course, when pennies had intrinsic worth, made as they were from sterling silver - 12d to the s, 20s to the l,.so 240d made 1 pound (in weight) of sterling silver - not the imaginary worth of latter day offerings.

What i've often wondered, though have not properly investigated, is whether the Moneyers of the Stafford Mint survived 'The Purge of the Moneyers' of 1124. Because if they didn't, they would've had their bollocks and right hands chopped off - pour encourage les autres sort of thing.

The Mint itself survived, though it wouldn't see the century out.

I think Bob Hoskins sang a song about this,

The clock is ticking.....
