don't mention the blinds
Me and Mr Apricot both completely forgot our last wedding anniversary. About two weeks later we were watching a comedy programme in which one of the characters forgot his wedding anniversary and was in deep trouble. We both turned to each other and said 'Ohhhhh...' It's only 18 years as well.

I tend to remember the anniversary of the night we met more than the actual wedding date.

I struggle to remember last night

The clock is ticking.....

Fed up of trying to get to sleep, got back up and did a jigsaw. Now still wide awake at 4am.
Just seen a massive ( now squashed ) beetle strolling across the kitchen floor towards the washing machine, closely followed by another massive one. Hoping there isn't a little family of them under there !

Had a message from the Minister of Justice to say that my Mum's water supply is off.

It's OK, it's not really a matter for the courts, apparently, just a pump failure and it should be back on this afternoon.

Oh no, I feel bad now !!! I catch flies, wasps, bees and spiders (in a glass ) and throw them outside, but these brought back memories of the cockroach infestation in our room on holiday.
Even the massive slug , which had been leaving slimy trails around the kitchen for weeks, was finally caught in the early hours by torch light and got to live another day. (Well, I think he did, if he survived being catapulted to the far end of the garden  ) Seems 4am is the time they come out to play.

I had set aside today to spend all day gardening with perhaps the odd hour or two sitting in the sun reading ( I hadn't checked the weather forecast).

Instead I decided to have a day cooking for the freezer so I popped to Aldi and bought loads of mince (5% fat), bag potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, coriander, onions.
I already had at home enough tins tomatoes, oxo cubes, garlic etc.
So for about a £17 spend I have made the following,

A large family sized lasagne, a large family sized cottage pie, a smaller cottage pie, several portions of mashed potato, a large saucepan of carrot and coriander soup, about 10 portions of bolognese sauce.
I've also got enough mix to make a dozen Cornish pasties but I forgot to buy puff pastry (too lazy to make my own), so those will get made tomorrow.

Then, after I've mopped the floor, I intend to put my feet up.
