Stafford Cinema - ups & downs.

Apparently an offer has been made for the old cinema , 750k, to turn it into a casino.

I've enjoyed some nights in Casinos, but equally I've enjoyed nights at Bingos and trips to the horses, and I can certainly see the appeal of a flutter - if nothing else it's good to see a use for it

Love reading 'Hopeless Dad's' drivel, absolutely 100% the biggest tool on here. Here's Elton John modelling one of his £2K Gucci tracksuits...

The thing is though, it's a very one way street. Say it does become a casino, n the place is gutted and changed inside.

Say a few years down the line , that closes due to lower than expected customers, cinema equipment is expensive. It'll be ten times harder for someone to come along in the future and use that as a cinema.

Saying that, with a new cinema underway, we probably couldn't justify having two anyway.

Don't see why it wouldn't be a success with all the other nightlife clustered in that area. It Could become Stafford's version of star city

The building as it is isn't fit for purpose for a modern cinema so that hardly matters. It's got to be better than leaving it unoccupied until it has to be nicked down.

A Building of a similar size in Cardiff had many incarnations between it closing a a theatre and reopening as a Weatherpoons - including a lazer quest and a market. It was never empty for long and I can see it being a fantastic casino with very little work really.

The Prince of Wales? - It was always a cinema in my time.

Keep it as a cinema- just turn it into a sex cinema, complete with an interesting side-line of flasher mac or even an Ann Summers franchise. There must be a market for a slightly upmarket sex cinema, rather than the sleazy ones found in some towns. Mind you, opening a sex shop in Stafford may be a bit of a challenge.

...Did I just type all that out loud...?

Has the one gone from Gaol Mews? According to Google, they now operate from Telford, near Kwik Fit Wellington -although, that may just be one of their products.
Romeo & Juliets.
There used be one back of Greyfriars too. Never been in myself, know a few people that have.
