Good point, can't say that I'd noticed but now that you say. When did you last have to get dead flies off a car? Compared to forty years ago, there's hardly anything about now. It used to be absolute carnage in the summer months. I had a white motorcycle helmet and there would be bloodstains on it. Cars are a bit slipperier now, but the front number plates are still square on, yet nothing gets splattered on them like it used to.
I blame wheelie bins.
It's been noticeable for many years - no clouds of moths around streetlights, either.Good point, can't say that I'd noticed but now that you say.
There were millions of the bloody things splattered over the front of my car over the three weeks we spent in Italy this summer. No shortage, I can assure you. When did you last have to get dead flies off a car? Compared to forty years ago, there's hardly anything about now. It used to be absolute carnage in the summer months. A big chunky (fat) fluffy black cat, goes by the name of Sooty.Any trying to get there from the west have been intercepted and eaten by big cat Alfie The Assassin. AKA Fat Greedy B*st*rd Cat.
Not sure who's covering the North, South & Eastern corridors.

I may have mentioned that I quite like Gnats. I once got off my bike to let one go past.I have a gnat that has been travelling with me on my car journey's in and around Staffordshire and the surrounding areas for the past week. 'He' gets very excitable when we're travelling at certain speeds and dances around the windscreen. I shall miss Trevor when he's gone.
It also might have something to do with the fact that it is autumn.Where are they?
