I would actually say that it's a good sign when we have abnormal loads moving as it's a sign there is still work in the town. When that stops we all need to worry!
Small inconvenience in the scheme of things.

Drove past this on the way north. Looks like idiots managed to crash on the right hand of the 2 lanes that south on the m6 at the bit where it splits and the 2 right hand lanes go south on the toll. Why are people such shit drivers!
I had a car careering full pelt sideways towards me on that stretch as I had just started going down the M6 south lanes a few years ago. With the concrete roadwork barriers next to my lane, so no hard shoulder to get onto, I somehow managed to slow up enough without causing a pile-up , and avoided him by centimetres as he swerved in front of my car and then back across the carriageways to flip over several times and land on the grass bank (between the toll and M6) on his roof. Don't know whether he'd decided to swerve from the Toll road at the last minute, or whether someone else swerved and sent him flying across. All I remember in those few seconds were seeing his terrified face, and me thinking "Sh1t, this is it...." . I was just thankful of my quick reactions and the fact I was driving a mini, so able to move over those extra few inches to avoid him colliding with me!

II suspect the real issue is that they don't want a potential purchaser to be stuck there on the way out from a viewing, in the same way that people have been stuck on Parkside for decades.

Who would buy a property which requires a long queue to get to

All the best

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
There was a bad accident a few hundred yards from junction 15 involving a lorry and a Fiat 500. We drove past not too long after it must have happened. The police were already there and the traffic was already tailing back about 2 miles and obviously would get worse.

We saw another police car, an ambulance and fire engine hurtling up towards the scene as we were going southbound. Hope all the people involved are ok.

Ridiculous delays caused by Severn Trent roadworks at Great Bridgeford this morning. What is normally a 1-2 min journey from J14 to Great Bridgeford took 25rmins as the 3 way phased traffic lights were not set up right.

When I got to the railway bridge after 25mins there was just one car waiting at the lights in the direction coming from Woodseaves!

The lights may well not be set up correctly but I'd wager they were set up exactly as intended.

Didn't you know that the council has entered a competition, with prizes awarded to local authorities that cause unnecessary traffic congestion. Apparently, the aim is to create a static jam all the way from Eccleshall to the Bristol St island, which it is hoped will scoop the prestigious Golden Shovel. Go Stafford!!

It is clear from my recent (ongoing) correspondence with them over the Taylor Wimpey Blockage that, at the very least, they just don't care, although the possibility that it could even be deliberate has to be considered. Maybe they do it to dispel some of the boredom?

On the subject of records, The Taylor Wimpey Blockage almost reached the Sandon Road lights on Monday evening.

We are dealing with the sort of people who think that it is a worthwhile project to reduce a speed limit from 50mph to 30mph on a road that has permanent stationary queues. And who put up a sign warning you of traffic lights ahead, when you have been in the crawling queue they have caused for the last half-mile before you finally get to it. And who have a sign there suggesting that the cause of the blockage is "roadworks" when there aren't any and haven't been for many weeks.

Take it to the local rag. Seriously. People hate these developers and their crap cardboard housing. They have enough bad PR as it is, and bad PR can mean poorer house sales. Perhaps they’d change their tune if the paper that goes through everyone’s letterbox on a Thursday is suddenly plastered with their name for all the wrong reasons.

Taylor Wimpey know that people will buy every single house that they build.

Their contempt for the public and the local authority is plain for all to see.

Haven't had a free thursday paper in many years. Not sure we can even get the Express & Star delivered anymore (they weren't prepared to just deliver the Thursday edition).
