I was going to have a bit of a praise and grumble about the place so am curious to know what the story is!

The rumours of The Swan being sold are just not going away. Anything you'd like to say @ChrisLewis
the silence is deafening
When a sentence is constructed upon the lines of "the x has never been y since z" one should automatically have one's guard up.The Crown and The Monarch are quite seperate tings
The Crown has never been the King or Queen of England since the establishment of the corporate body, but the British Monarchy is a figurehead for The Crown, rules parliament in Great Britain and has authority over the Prime Ministers through a Vatican knighthood called the Order of the Garter. The Crown, however, is not the King or Queen of England – they are an established monarchy of the corporate body.
There's the Vatican again. I'd be even more interested to see the source for this one. King Billy? This City, located in the heart of Greater London, became a sovereign-state in 1694 when King William III of Orange privatised the Bank of England, and turned it over to the Vatican

The Order of the Garter was instituted by Edward III, and had more to do with the confidence of a Monarch who had proved himself in battle. I'd be interested to see what source you might cite that could possibly link it to being a 'Vatican knighthood' - at its institution it was very much an 'internal' affair.

The Crown is what the currently-closed Spittal Brook used to be.
Has @ChrisLewis been on lately?
Thanks Gareth for the feedback all duly noted! To be honest The Swan`s standards have slipped for a good while. Inside looks tatty.
The dog and doublet seem rudderless / clueless and the food served as part of a work day time function a couple of months ago at the moat house was below par.
Loads of staff turnover and internal wrangles over the last couple of years (at the d&d at least).
Either loosing their touch or eye taken off the ball
