Mad Cat Woman
I am now off work for 17 lovely long days. 7 nights and 8 of those days shall be spent up in Barmston while the youngest (Jesus) stays at home with the cats. He was asked to join me, but he said ''No''. His loss.

Anyone good at bug identification? These things seem to swarm the pool committing self-genocide, and I'm pretty sure they're the same ones that will cover the ceiling if I leave a window facing our garden open when it's dark out.

They look similar to sand flies that used to swarm around our picnics on mablethorpe beach.

As an aside , i got bitten by a horsefly on the common earlier this week ... nasty dirty little BasT@rd infected my hand ( swelling only just gone down and it itched and burned for 3 days )

They are Pollen Beetles (I know them as Thunderbugs or Thrips) - harmless aparently, they coveted my white washing as soon as I put it out this morning & the pools full of them...

They're generally harmless, but can be very entertaining if one gets washed into your ear...
No, they dont seem to do anything except congregate in large numbers. DONT put your white washing out when youve just put staicky suncream on either, or you'll end up looking like a walking fly trap....

Spent the day digging a trench for some SWA cable to be ran to the summerhouse for when the electrician arrives on Monday.

i'm also expecting viking garden buildings at the same time and possibly a CCTV contractor as well so i'm on parking duty so they will all have somewhere to park the vans .
Hoping the CCTV is done first at the side of the house so i can watch them all sweating in the heat

Just been stopped by the Heddlu near Tywyn. A very nice pc proceeded to tell my MOT was due up at the end of July and I had valid insurance and car tax.

Very kind of him I said.

He then proceeded to tell me that one of my brake lights wasn't working and I'd better get it fixed or it would fail the MOT.

What a sensible way to deal with minor traffic offences instead of issuing senseless tickets out like some police forces do.

I did also query whether he'd checked my details whilst he was on the move and he assured me he had used his hands free kit :)
