Missing my old Bridle Rd Post office , who used to let me get cash out via my visa card in whatever denominations I wanted !

Wanted some change for the buses for hubby , rather than the tap on/off you have to use when paying by the visa cards. (He tapped too many times getting off one time and got charged for extra journeys  ....safer with cash!)

This local post office has just informed me that I have to pay for a special 'cash back' card to be able to get any money from them .
So went to the tills at Tesco for a change with my few items , so that I could get cash back ....."We don't do cashback anymore".

Looks like a visit to the bank in town in the hope they still give un-chargeable cash.

Yes, Bridle Road Post Office - officially Cannock Road Post Office - is wonderful.
Charnley Road Post Office is also very good.
Neither is my nearest.

Solved the obtaining cash problem....raided son's piggy bank coins . :D

Struggling to keep up with this new busy regime ! Monday & Friday zumba with Stella , Wednesday Zumba with Khris :heyhey: , Tuesday walking group, and thurdays a day out with my new mates to different places .
Still doing the housework at nearly 8pm to catch up ready for tomorrows outing to Ledbury .
Hubbys thrown together spagbol tea was suprisingly exceptional , despite him having to wait for it . At least it's only coffee my mates are dragging me to after zumba , rather than the pub 😂

'My' cat returned to duty today - for the first time since last Tuesday.

I was considering making some investigations, but maybe she's just had a holiday.

She did seem to think that I should offer eight days worth of biscuits...

Normally she'll do four or five days each week, usually for an hour or so around 10 or 11am, but never on Sundays.

She's at church, praying to the great shaghetti monster.

B y the time you have traipsed round getting the cash it will have cost more than the extra bus journey you were worried about it costing lol.

Gets hubby so stressed out tapping on and off ( and gets me stressed watching him!) its worth me traipsing round . I've got a free OAP bus pass, and good at walking miles.😁

Has the photo on your bus pass ever been inspected yet? 😗😉
Some bus drivers have taken a quick second glance . BUT..Did once have a loudouthed woman ( passenger) demanding to know what I was doing using one as I was " clearly not old enough to have it !".
Most embarrassing , but shut her up telling her to look at the photo & 1956 date.... just got something like " well , you don't look it, your older than me "

Received a letter from the DWP notifying me that I was due an age related increase in pension from my forthcoming birthday. A whole 25p a week, think of all the things I could buy with that.
Still maybe I should be grateful as when the Old Age Pension was introduced in 1909 it was just that. 5/- / 25p a week.

Saw a copy of Aldous Huxley's "Doors of Perception" in a charity shop. Like waay out maan. Unfortunately my pension increase wasn't enough to pay for it.

Last night, I had to cycle to the pub, to deliver some rhubarb and an empty beer bottle.

I managed to overcome the glare of the setting Sun.

Fridays will often be on the quiet side there, but it steadily filled up with a younger-than-usual crowd, mostly female and of a musical bent.

The stage lighting was not adequate for a less amateur picture.

Looks like catching the mouse was Salem's last great adventure. He passed away yesterday afternoon. We've worked it out that he was about 18/19 and there is a huge hole where his furry face used to be. Rather broken hearted right now.
Sorry to hear that 😕

Had 14 months old granddaughter here for a couple of hours earlier. They've buggered off home now, adult speak has been reinstated. Got away without having to kiss her again which was a plus.
Grandsons 5 , the 'parents' choose to gentle parenthood' the child, I'm litterally tearing my hair out by the time they leave, climbing furniture, trying to pull down blinds, teasing the cat, walking round with food & drink...tell me I'm not the only person?

I feel like a really bad nan. BUT, there seem to be NO rules.

:ohno:

I once smacked my nephew as he belted my mum in the face. She'd been telling me he'd done it often ,so I gave him a quick slap when he did it while I was there (my brother & sister in law laughed at the time he did it) and all hell broke loose .I was the evil one, even mum , who'd been moaning turned on me!
