On tarmac*, it was desperate - but, off-road, it wasn't too bad, it just required a rather odd gait, and there were a few times when it folded under. Luckily the heel held on throughout or I would have been in real trouble.
It failed after the first mile and half in an eight mile trip...
* The last couple of hundred yards to the car park were the worst, otherwise I was alone and unobserved.

Shit day at work, again ... Anyone got a job? I've had numerous interviews with indeed for the last few weeks, get past first then second interviews... Then nothing...I'm guessing age is holding me back..... Anyone know if any thing other than indeed for job searches? ...

I am on high alert today. Capsized in my kayak, we couldn't bail it out so left it and swam back holding onto the OHs. The lake wardens found it washed up.

Gosh , glad you were able to swim back . Hope you are OK @Lucy .
My crazy zumba instructor goes cold water swimming weekly. She goes up to the lakes as well. Just wearing normal swimming costume, but " I'm OK, I wear a hat , gloves & shoes " .
Loves it a lot more when the lakes are frozen over, lots of photos of her holding sheets of ice in the water.
Keeps trying to convince me to go with her,
as will be good for healing, immune system and my pain.I'd be on hubby's heart tablets if she dragged me in! ( she lives in next road to me. If I see her on the Ring doorbell I'm hiding

About 2 years ago this happened to a mate, in person interview that cost him over £50 on travel plus a day's holiday to go to, then nothing. He called them after a week, they said if course he'd not heard as they gave it to someone else! Had the last laugh though, another mate got a job there then offered something better so just didn't turn up on the start day, meant they had to restart the interview process wasting more time and money
Edit: buggered if I can remember who, was an IT firm in Birmingham, must find out as a mate is looking at the min and he'll want to avoid not that the it sector is great for low end positions right now

Replacement cooker grill element arrived, had to pull the cooker out and remove numerous screws to access the back and replace the element. Appreciated the German engineering behind it and was left with no excess screws so must have done something right.

We went to the cinema today, first time using our Odeon Limitless tickets.
We watched One Life with Anthony Hopkins, the story of Nicholas Winton, the London stockbroker who saved the lives of 669 children from Nazi occupied Czechoslavakia in WW2.
What an absolutely wonderful film, it had me in floods of tears at several points.
Feel like I’ve had my moneys worth from that one film alone.
