I managed it in the pub the other day. Leave the glass on the table and lift ever so slightly between hands to slurp it up :pint:šŸ˜‚

At home I use a small glass. Hubby has to open the ring pull cans for me though, after lots of ' you don't need another one for the pain"

Went to the farmers market in town today with the carer on a rare day off together.. nothing there for us, but lovely @Glam was buying treats for everyone else but herself!

It's bloomin' expensive! I know they're meant to supposedly make everything themselves, but that 1 jar of jam was Ā£2 and the Marmalade just over that.
The selection of cakes wasn't up to the usual standard, d-i-ls mum usually buys some for all her kids (6 of them), didn't get any today.

W didn't buy anything, not a lot of choices really for a farmers market.. Went to M& S instead... Dissapointed there too

Ā£2 for a jar of jam is expensive? The good stuff is Ā£2+ in Asda. Or was it a tiny jar?

I found that the last few times we went to the market square markets.
Was going to buy oatcakes , but too small & hell of a lot more expensive than local shops.
( I was brought but in Hanley , with an oatcake maker/ shop in a corner house around the corner , so love them.....)

BUT...I'd fork out for them if I saw them on market stalls around here now , as not sold in this area.

I charge more than Ā£2 when I make jam and put it on my honesty stall. It costs a lot to make...

Had a lovely day yesterday helping son out at The Leicester comedy festival.

He is putting on over 100 shows over 3 weeks in 4 venues. (The festival itself has over 700 shows)
The venues are smallish, holding between 50 to 75 people.

Yesterday was spent setting up the room, greeting the customers, finding them seats in a crowded room (it was absolutely buzzing, every show full to bursting) then as soon as the show started going over to another venue, wait for that show to finish. Clear the room, put chairs back in rows, put sons brochures on every seat, greet the customers , find them seats, show starts, back to the other venue and do it all over again.ā€¦. until late.

Iā€™m really proud of him. All of the shows that he is putting on are free to get in but pay what you want on the way out, you pay whatever you think the show is worth , or whatever you can afford but no pressure to pay if times are hard.
It was lovely to see so many people out and about and supporting the shows.

A lovely offer thanks @Carole . But the way our postal service is around here lately they'd be mouldy by the time we got them . (Took hospital appt letter over a week to come , arrived after the appt date. Luckily she'd told me the time and where to go over the phone in case that happened :roll: )

WOW! That sounds amazing! So pleased he's doing so well , and well done to you for helping him to get set up.

I've only been to the one comedy night years ago in the Gatehouse . That was in a smaller room , with up and coming comedians making it a really enjoyabe evening out. Must start doing more things like that !

The smaller theatre is The Malcolm Edwards Theatre (more commonly known as The Met) named after Malcolm Edwards who contributed much to the culture and artistic life of the town, he was an active member and former chairman of Stafford Players.
He actually died while performing on stage and his ghost can often be heard wandering the corridor outside the Met.

The comedy night that you referred to was probably one of the monthly ā€œComedy in The Metā€ nights, very popular and always sold out.
When Sarah Millican isnā€™t touring she comes monthly on a Monday bringing her comedian friends to try out new material. These are called PLAYGROUND and usually sell out within minutes of going on sale.
