Lab should be looking on the bright side. When the world economy collapses in a year or two they can say it's all the fault of the Tories.

Days ago & me still can't believe it. HS2, Uni-, Hospital. & the standing MP gets in with a thumping majority! I am obviously a numpty, as I am still befuddled! (Penny has finally dropped, perhaps he is finally recovering! Assuming of course it wasn't just a figment! ;) Ed)

The reality is; HS2 will happen. Both Labour and the Tories want it. The University was leaving anyway; it's a private enterprise and there isn't a lot an MP can do to stop them going besides asking nicely. The hospital will only get more services if and when the Department of Health decides it should have them. There isn't much our MP can do to influence these issues. If Kate Godfrey had won this seat she would have had even less influence as Labour aren't currently the governing party. That was my main gripe with her campaign - she was focussing on popular issues that Jeremy Lefroy has failed to put right when she couldn't do anything about either.

How do you know she couldn't do anything about it, she didn't get in so that can never be tested, unless she runs and wins at the next election.
