I started my career there when I was 14 making the teas , then got a job there at the age of 18 , I learnt so much and grew up so much , nuns were very caring at all times , no one was ever allowed to pass away with out some one sitting with them , It then inspired me to do my nurse training . And still nursing !!

I used to play tennis almost every day at the Hough Tennis Club which bordered the grounds of the convent. Some of my favourite memories were scrambling into the grounds searching for a stray tennis ball, with a thrill of terror that we might be discovered by the nuns. My friend told me they had no feet. And I believed him.

We also used to creep in to the Convent's gardens, more for a dare than anything else, they seemed so exotic to a kid from Park Street!!!!

I believe the standard of care is still excellent at St Joe's although how long this will remain so is another story.

The standard of care is still exemplary in the convent Kyoto and no reason for it to change. New owner has been careful to maintain all what was good before when the Sisters were in residence.

I still very much consider it to be the benchmark to which other similar establishments should aspire to...

The rooms they are referring to are what used to be the Sister's private rooms upstairs in the old building on the left.

The ground floor ones have been completed and are all but ready for use now, which used to be dining rooms etc.
