Heard similarly bad stories about them. Everyone has a taxi service they prefer and they are one I avoid.

I rarely use them. It's just twice she has now had bad experiences with them. Why do they think they can treat a young girl like that.. the first time when she told him she only had a £5 note on her. He told her to get out and f off. She was only travelling a mile in the car to Sandon rd..

Take their driver number or whatever it is and report to the council. Enough people do that they'll get their taxi licences taken off them.

The last time I used them a Pakistani driver refused to lift our not very heavy suitcase as he had a bad back. I didn't mind putting the suitcase in the boot myself, but his attitude on refusal of lifting was very rude. I also wasn't very keen on his choice of Asian language radio station.

I prefer to ring aerobrights now while on the train and get them to send a taxi to pick me up. No-one is forced to use Stafford taxi's!!!

If he was white would you have felt the need to say 'a white driver refused to lift...'?

yep. Rather than the racism you are inferring, it was a description of his physical characteristics. I could have said brown skinnned man with a beard and hat I know not the name of, would you have preferred that?

driver would suffice.

I'll run all my posts by you in future, make sure they adhere to your value system, not my own.

*He was a Pakistani driver and I'm quite within my rights to describe him as such, no matter what stupid ridiculous political correct sensitivities you may have! If I'd have added a derogatory adjective in front of the word Pakistani than you would have a valid point. As i didn't, you don't!

I well remember the torrent of letters the Guardian once got for referring to a rape suspect as a "black cab driver".

It turned it he was white and drove a black cab.

And, of course, some "Pakistanis" are Bangladeshi and not always too happy about the lack of distinction, though they rarely bother about correcting it.

Technically they are the same, East Pakistan and West Pakistan :D

No, they were all "Indians" until 1948.

That included Ceylon/Sri Lanka and Myanmar/Burma, too.

I find nationalism in this context quite fascinating to be honest. Live with each other for 2 millennia, spend the last 80 years hating on each other and worse!!!

It's their business, really - not ours, to tell that them what we think they are.

Charging round the world, renaming places and people will cause these issues. They just have to be resolved afterwards, usually by people who haven't profited from it.
