Here - corner of Martin Street and Eastgate Street - rather more photogenic in some people's opinion.
I used to work upstairs, over the Registry Office back in the mid-1980s ("Eastgate House"?). If they were ever short of witnesses for a marriage ceremony, they used to nip upstairs and ask for volunteers.

In the 60’s I got married in the old registry office. Nearly half a century later I got married in the new registry office. I don’t like church weddings. Come to think of it I don’t much like getting married either but there yer go.
