And so it begins. Already had my wing mirror knocked off

Day 1 of road works, 1 wing mirror gone.

:(

I thought I felt something go bump when I drove down Tillington Street the other night.

Technically, you should have stopped at the scene of the accident. Or report the damage inflicted on the car by handing yourself over to the local police station.

However, if you were just driving over a sleeping policeman which was responsible for the bump, I'll let you off.

Eh? I had just got in my car, hadn't even turned the engine on, it was still parked correctly by the kerb, when someone drove past and smacked my mirror off. Technically I was already stopped at the scene of the accident. Why should I hand myself over to the police? It was the car that drove past my car that should have done that? Weird

It won't of been a sleeping policeman, with the way the police stations are being closed/sold off and the thin blue line is becoming increasingly dotted despite increased council tax for the police.

Those lights are weird. Used to stop everyone regardless of traffic flow. I do wonder if they have been changed as traffic seems to flow better alon there at the moment....I've probably spoken too soon and the Lloyds roundabout works will lead to more traffic jamming up Beaconside!

I'm gonna cycle everywhere for the foreseeable future :)

It's started....absolute morons driving up and down my narrow speed humped road as if 50 mph was too slow. Just to avoid a few hundred yard detour. Inconsiderate wankers :(

Not down my road... people do whatever they want with impunity. Park on zig zags, park outside the school. Why don't people care about the impact of such selfish behaviour on others ? :(

Spoke to my councillor about the situation down my road. I emailed and he rang me back! Seems a decent fellow for a Conservative

He's speaking to highways to see what can be done! I live in hope!

Just curious... but how is it 'Your' road?

It’s where kyoto49 lives I imagine. Hence it’s ‘his/her’ road just the same as the road I live on is ‘mine’.

I gathered that... the posts come across as if no one else is allowed to use the road.

I noticed tonight a sign has been put at the end of the street on the Eccleshall Road side.

What does the sign say? Is it a prohibitive circular sign with a red border indicating no vehicular traffic, with an additional "Except kyoto49" below it? :D

Some kind of karmaic wonderment just, as I left the house and found all those ignorant tw*ts who ignored the 'residents only' sign at both ends of MY road were all blocked in at both ends and had jammed themselves in an inescaple traffic jam all of their own making. Oh how i laffed :D Especially to the rude fat man in a silver pilckup who said he 'didn't care' when I mentioned that it was a residents only route, seconds before he found his self far enough up my road that 3 point turns and escape options had disappeared! Hope he's still sat there getting redder and redder in the face!!

If you have a bike or legs and are going less than 3 miles may I suggest cycling or walking to wherever you need to get too today!!

Was a lovely cycle to work :D

Actually they say "residents only apart from speeding boy racers, rich people who don't think things like this apply to them, business men, white can men, people in 4 x 4's, audi's BMW's, men generally tbf, and oblivious blind pensioners" judging by the huge volume of traffic still flying up and down at speeds up to mach 9.

In all seriousness my neighbour is too scared to park outside her own house and get her young son out and is parking at her friends in another road and carrying her son home. All due to the selfish actions of other (<) humans :(

Park in Seighford and walk the rest of the way.
Seighford has become a busier than usual rat run, turning right into Seighford off Clanford Road this morning I had to wait for a stream of traffic coming from Great Bridgford direction. Then stuck at the Windmill roundabout whilst selfish tw*ts coming from Stafford station direction blocked the roundabout.
