run a few SNP candidates in English constituencies. I'm sure there's be a lot of support from the Sassenachs for them

While both parties in a union should have the right to say on its dissolution it has been suggested that the reason people in England were not allowed to vote on Scottish independence was the likely embarrassing situation of England voting Yes and Scotland voting No.

That would have been an interesting scenario, if applied to the European Union referendum.

Interesting times when the lady on the left can operate a mobile phone but struggles to dress herself. Hopefully the lady on the right is offering to pop around tomorrow to help her with her shoes.

ETA I've seen a suggestion (just one) that this may have been photoshopped.

Always found it odd how much flak Abbot gets when Johnson exists.
She's had years of practice whereas its only since 2016 that Johnson's popped up on most people's radar (at least those outside of London and barring the odd sporting event).

Does ‘God’ want a hung parliament ?

In the ‘normal’ order of a British election (ie a mainly two horse race) tories would always wish for bad weather on polling day since most tories will turn out to vote ‘come hell or high water’ whereas the average labour voter might be put off by inclement weather.

But, this time could it be different with Bozo hoping to score borrowed votes from fickle labour Brexiteers, many of whom might be 65+ and prefer to stay by the fire on a day like today. Added to which - with the polls in the run up indicating tories could/will get a working majority - they might also be subject to a bit of ’reverse psychology’ which could reinforce the decision to stay indoors (?)

Ah well, just a thought. We’ll know soon enough.

Had the exact same conversation with a Scot at work today.

It was like a social event up on Weeping Cross with a group of OAPs coming out just as I was going in and another group there as I was coming out.

Wouldn't surprise me if they were heading off to The Bod for their elevenses.

I voted about an hour ago, passed the local Tory candidate on my way there. Couldn't miss her, she had a hat on that made her look like she was herding sheep in Australia and a big blue rosette pinned to her coat.
She was stood by the Essense of the Orient with a colleague, didn't say hello to a possible Conservative voter. Would've been nice.

Probably come to witness the banging noise so she sort it out for you. Oh no ,she wouldn't hear it from her house would she?

Those who voted during the hours they usually vote, what was turnout like compared to last time? We used to vote during the day but did so in the evening now and had to queue, but no idea if that’s normal for 6.25 or not.

Can’t be talking to the peasants now.

I vote around 6ish every time and at Rangers it was considerably busier than previous votes.
I've seen it suggested that, unlike warm spring evenings in May and June, people aren't going to hang around until the late evening to vote. Vote early and get hunkered-down for the night.

Saw her too, was reluctantly going to vote for her but then looked at the list of candidates and out of town addresses and decided to change my vote. Fairly disappointed that the local political parties can't put up a local candidate to represent the area.
