Stafford Traffic.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Tidied that up for you. ;)
Drove to Newport Pagnell this morning and no issues whatsoever with traffic on the motorways there and back. Bliss.

Now in sunny Formby and the M6 from Knutsford up to the M58 was utter carnage. Hoping it's cleared before I head home later on.

Please try living on the Doxey Road.
We have traffic lights outside, 9 times out of 10 they work.
Traffic appears to be getting worse just lately, no-one ever turns the radio down when parked up waiting for the lights to change. Day or night.
I could do with finding out who my Mum gave Dads 12 bore to..............

I drove that way on Saturday and wondered if it was better for you now the cars are further away. Obviously not...

No babb, I wish. Plus, this morning the workmen were drilling for the drainage pipes, whole house was shaking. I'll be glad when it's finished.

I don't envy you one bit. It was bad enough in Baswich when Severn Trent were going the drainage system and that wouldn't be anywhere near as noisy as road construction.

I'm hoping when it's all over, we have a fantastic road outside here. I should be able to walk to Lidl without even thinking of using the car.
Youngest is thinking of taking bets tho, how long till they have dig it up for drains or sumat else.

It's usual for new surfaces to get dug up within 6 months of being finished.

I was hoping the new road would be a positive thing for pedestrians and cyclists and include a dedicated footpath and cycle lane along it's whole length. As this is Stafford I fear I am going to be massively disappointed and no safe cycleway will be included. Had it been this would have been a massive step towards cycling provision.

We are governed by idiots :(

The scheme is also set to include a 3m shared footway and cycleway

Based on current observations most cyclists would still uses the road rather that the cycle path

Maybe when that new road is finished they may have some tarmac left to deal with that mess of a road in front of Sainsbury from the roundabout up towards the lido (when it rains)
That is in one sorry state for a main road & had there been a council office along there it would be a different case.
