OOh crickey, the house was built in 1975! But I was only 10 years old then. I didn't even know there had been a golf course in Stafford there, until I bought the house, and I am born and bred in Stafford. Mind you the only time I have been on a golf course, was with my Dad, when I was about 12, and after hitting him in the shin (accidentally of course) with a golf club, I've never been on one since. Unless you count crazy golf!

I used to play in the woods, the brook, golf course & then the building site down there when I was little, I remember being a bit peeved when the houses were finally built as it was in the days before health and safety and you had a free reign of the site.

There was steep embankment you can see from the Weston road that was excellent for doing rolly pollys down.

I walked past the fields the other day and was quite sad that there were not groups of children playing, it was an excellent place to grow up as there are lots of places to play outside.

We used to go over there as well, walking it over the fields from Baswich.

I remember the old traditional gypsy caravans near there on the Tixall Road, by the junction of St Thomas's lane . ( My dad bought my first bike off them and did it up with a lick of paint and a few stickers for me :D )
