A nice meal out

We're taking some friends out to dinner in a couple of weeks and I cant quite decide where.

It seems everywhere you could get a good quality three course meal in a nice venue has all either gone seriously downhill or just gone bump.

I dont mind travelling a bit (I'll be driving anyway)

Any suggestions other than Badger/ Swan & co would be very much appreciated!

Unfortunately for me I’ve been overruled on this occasion and anything exotic is not an option.

I've heard good things about The Dog & Doublet at Sandon, How's the Hollybush at Salt these days?

Good looking menu that.
The Bell at Haughton is usually pretty reliable and wont break the bank, monthly steak nights are always a sellout, well worth chasing for a booking!

I like the Littleton but we've been there a few times recently, never been able to fault the food!

We went for a meal at the Dog and Doublet before the refurb but after the Lewis take over, the meal was the worst I've ever been served up. I have been told though that the head chef has come from the Hand and Cleaver and the food there was first class so I may have to give it another go.

I've hear good things about the swan with two necks and the white lion near Woore never been to either though.

I think we may have to give Aston Marina a go this time though.
