A Ploughmans Lunch

I have recently returned from holiday and had what I can only described as one of the best Ploughmans lunches that I have ever had. You may think that I holiday in the Shires but no it was from Cyprus of all places (A British owned local village "pub")

So this brings me on to my question. As I am now slightly addicted to these cheesy, hammy, pickley, salady, bready, etc meals, where is the best place in the local area (or maybe even further afield if it is that good!) to get one in your experiences. I have tried the P&A platter and while they are amazing they are still not a true ploughmans.

Thanks in advance

I had heard that the Ploughmans was a 60's invention to allow pubs something easy to serve. So found this

"The origins of the ploughman's lunch dates back to the 1960s, when the Milk Marketing Board promoted the meal nationally to boost sales of cheese, and is a product of this campaign. A comparable meal, popular prior to World War II, was also known as 'ploughboy's lunch'."

The Saracens Head in Weston did a marvelous ploughmans in those early days, the first one I ever had

The Black Horse at Clapton Gordano ( 5 minutes from the M5 service station ) does a proper job if you are travelling south west and want to avoid cardboard food...

Thankyou Mr Marwood! I may have to pop in to the place in Clapton Gordano(?) on Sunday!

EDIT :- Just Google Mapped Clapton Gordano and maybe popping in is not appropriate... For some reason I expected to be "our" end of the M5!!!
