I'm thinking of ways to spread the word and try to increase my customer base. Many new customers arrive through recommendation already but I'm considering some kind of referral type business cards (offering a small discount) to hand to existing customers which contain a number so that I know who referred the new customer when they hand it to me.

Ideally I would like to reward the existing customer as a thank you and wondered what you thought you might prefer to receive. Please respond to my poll above and I'll be very grateful. You can vote for more than one option, but if you have a considerably stronger vote for one option then please don't select any others.

Also, feel free to comment if there's anything you would like to suggest and if it's do-able then I may add it to the poll.

Thanks :)

You really are a lovely bunch!

Okay, so I may have to change the question. Assume now that there must be a reward, please could you still vote or suggest an alternative? Whilst I love how happy you all are to recommend me - some customers never think about mentioning me to others, and I'd just like a way to encourage this if possible.

Ta muchly :)

Well I've voted for a fiver cash, but really I wouldn't want anything, I'm happy to recommend you for nowt.
I always think that cash is the easiest way to reward any one, the kids don't get presents they have to buy themselves one.

Although it will be very unlikely you and my computer will ever meet... Mind you you are always welcome to come to Holland ;)
I would advice the five pound voucher. People seem nowadays to be more attracted to instant rewards.
The people that want a reward , that is!!
Maybe another second option to the five pound reward (if they do not want it for themselves) would be to have it donated to their favorite charity?

Now that's what I'm talking about! A superb suggestion, thank you Fonzie!!

Another 'nothing' from me. I'm more than happy to recommend you mate.

If you were my ISP or Sky, however...

Think thats the issue, I'd never recommend a big company without a kickback. No issues with helping a mate out though, even if we do only see each other digitally nowadays.

I voted £5 cash although I wouldn't want it, I just wanted to see what others had voted.

I think the charity idea is good, or maybe offer £5 off a next repair, that way they feel like they're getting a good deal and it's going to encourage their repeat custom.

Win win!

I have to agree, if I have had a good service I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the "smaller" guys out there, I wouldn't need a carrot to do so.
All's I'm after is good service!

I've had a little run in with British Gas about this type of thing, I recommended a colleague of mine to join their HomeCare but because my colleague hadn't said at the time of signing up to Homecare that I had recommended them, they almost refused to give me £25 M&S vouchers and my colleague M&S vouchers, I soon got on the blower to give them what for, I'm awaiting my vouchers as I type.

They were the ones telling me about the chance of getting an M&S voucher if i recommended folk and then they tried to get out of the deal, the cheek!!

I referred someone to your services yesterday.

Even though they have yet to use them, i have little doubt that they will in due course.

I received my 'warm glow' reward instantaneously - thanks wmr

I voted for the £5 cash payment or free repair in the future.

But would always recommend you anyway as you have done such a tremendous job getting my computer up and running in the past , for a good price. (And the added bonus that you write down what you have done in my sort of language :) )
