What a class moment when he falls off his bike and everyone pounces on him!! :D Great stuff!!

From the thread title I thought we were about to be sharing anything we've done as a nice gesture recently... and suddenly scraping the ice from my new next door neighbours car seems lame! :p

Saw a traffic warden wading in too. No doubt to paste a ticket on the downed scooter.

The number of people who didn't do anything, including the camera person, until the lady swings into action with her handbag is disgusting!

"By then I was in full flight and I started whacking the lads over the head with my shopping bag".

I thought that as well - it seemed like the whole world stood still until the handbag whirled into view.

Then the shame kicked in - and even the cameraman felt obliged to intervene.

I intervened many years ago when I came out of a night club. I saw a man thumping a woman. So I grabbed hold of him and pushed him away only to be attached by the woman. Luckily I stepped back and she fell over on to floor. The police who had been watching this then came over and took them both away. They told me it was a regular occurence, thats why they did not intervene at the start because when they sober up they are all "luvy duvy" and neither pressed charges.

Thats why I beleive its not always wise to be a good citizen.

You always run the risk of becoming the criminal too. I'd leave drunk people to it - if they can't take their alcohol it's not your problem, I wouldn't risk getting injured or arrested.

Top marks to the handbag wielding granny though, that is worthy of a title!

As per the previous post, I think this lady should be commended properly, however if it were me in that situation i'd do nothing.

a) risk life and limb fighting an unfair battle against armed thugs raiding a (one would hope) insured jeweller and not trying to hurt anyone
b) call the police and stay well out of it

No brainer really.

Something in me wants her to have had a brick in that handbag because she was going to do a smash-and-grab on the same shop.
