Damn, I was in a meeting, so arrived 7 minutes late.

EVERY form of energy production is ugly to someone, and NOBODY wants it on their doorsteps. Simple fact of life, anything in someone elses yard is better than something in yours.

So where is this going? How big is it? Maps anyone?

As you are probably not aware I thought I'd be the one to tell you that South Staffordshire Council are considering a planning application for Anaerobic Digestion System on Cocksparrow Lane, Huntington. It will be located extremely close to the new Community School (Huntington Primary School), behind the Barns Public House, opposite A.I.D Fuel Oils Ltd and back onto Cannock Chase (an area of outstanding natural beauty).

edit: so, in fairness, it is only a few hundred yards from houses and stuff..

Is this serious? I must admit, I'm not an expert on this but the "dangerous chemicals" are those derived from food waste... There is one of these somewhere in Shropshire.

Personally, if I lived around the Cannock area I'd be more concerned about the incinerator planned for Four Ashes.

yeah, i get the feeling the objection is more to do with the enormous unsightly processing plant.. the rest of it does smack of hyperbole..

Personally, if I lived around the Cannock area I'd be more concerned about the incinerator planned for Four Ashes.

Obviously it never gets referred to as an incinerator.... Usually "energy from waste" or "waste to resource" in the hope that people don't notice that it is in fact an incinerator.
