Does anyone know anywhere local where I can buy hardened steel rods 8m? im building a 3D printer.

Reminds me of the famous occasion when 'somebody' ordered a bit of brass bar that we needed urgently. We really only wanted a few inches, but had to have some spare for testing, etc, so a whole metre was ordered. When the lorry driver asked 'somebody' where he wanted it putting and was told "Just put it behind my desk", he looked rather bemused and said "I've got two lorry-loads of it outside".

'Somebody' had left an 'm' off and ordered 1000m, instead of 1000mm.

Easily done.

would have been cool i'm thinking of selling kits based on the open source design, just need to cost up laser cut parts. There is on guy on ebay who does the main hardware kits, hopfully I can do it cheaper
