Severn Trent have been doing a lot of mains cleaning overnight round Stafford - wonder if it's to do with that? My water was supposed to be off 21:00 -06:00 the other night, which I completely forgot, though the water didn't seem to be off at any point!

Its seven trent Our water in littleworth went off at 10pm - but it was back on again around 11pm. Its due to go off again mon/tues next week then again one night the following week.
all maintainace takes place between 9pm & 6am.

No, that makes perfect sense. My neighbour has the letter and gave me the info, basically what you've just described.

Ours was definitely off though, I had to miss my bi-annual shower, much to neon jay's disgust.

No, that makes perfect sense. My neighbour has the letter and gave me the info, basically what you've just described.

Spot on, I did read the letter and then promptly lost it, hence forgetting until we needed a brew during 'off hours'. The colour of the stuff that came through the tap in the morning was, erm, interesting, then some rather sparkly aerated stuff came through and finally, bingo - fresh as a daisy.

My water keeps going on and on over last few weeks for mains maintenance - if you haven't been notified apparently you can get compensation??

those are the last dates on my letter, so should be okay from then.
