Anyone fallen over on the ice yet?

I've managed it 4 times this week already :( It wasn't so bad when it was all snow and went crunch underfoot, but now the snow is covered by a layer of ice, it's like walking on a polished wood floor in socks. Why the hell can't the pavements *and* the roads be gritted?
My back hurts like stink today. It's not helped by the fact that our office is freezing cold; everyone's got their coats and scarves on. Again. How cold does it have to be before we can walk out? :)
Still, according to the BBC Weather, it should be 4 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday. Positively tropical. :)

yeah, but it's supposed to rain.. i'd much rather it was cold & dry, than mild & wet.. i love a good hard frost - feels like winter should be!

I invested in some Yaktrax several years ago, one of the best things I've ever bought. You'll never slip on the ice with these on.

I had to import mine from the USA, but now they're readily available in the UK. See:

I went for the Yaktrax Pro as they have an extra strap that goes over the top of your shoe / boot.

Pretty much sums up our country. The youth get abismal press constantly, and then one youth does something which is positively commendable and gets interrigated by the police for two hours.

I wonder how many crimes happened in those two hours!?

I went A over T yesterday, right in the middle of the road outside my house :grr:

I think my other half had de-iced his car with the usual kettle full of water thing, and it left an ice rink by my car :teef:

Hammer him. If he gives in to you, then he deserves it! Is he a man or a mouse?
