There used to be a sign writer in Stafford called John Ryan. He was linked with Alan Povey and very talented at hand-drawn signs. He did the big 'trompe l'oeil' one on the side of the old Browse building in the town centre. I can't find any contact details for him in Stafford although there is someone of that name in Cheshire. Just posting on the off-chance that anybody knows him and knows whether he is still working.
