Appeal for witnesses - Accident on A449/West Way

At Approximately 1730 hrs on Tuesday 22nd of July 2014 a road traffic collision occurred on the A449 at its Junction with West Way in the Rising Brook area of Stafford.
The collision involved a Yellow and Black DAF specialist Tar spraying Lorry owned by a company from Knutsford in Cheshire and driven by a 24yr old man from Lancaster, and a Bicycle being ridden by a 24yr old man from Stafford.
It is believed that both the Lorry and cyclist had been travelling along the A449 from Rising Brook in the direction of Stafford when the Lorry has made a left turn into West Way and has collided with the cyclist at the near side of the lorry.The lorry driver was not injured, The cyclist was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by ambulance with suspected fractures to his Right leg. At this time he remains in Accident and Emergency. His condition is described as "stable".
Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to make contact by calling 101 and quoting incident serial 614 of 22.7.14 and leaving a message for either Sgt 3743 Knott or Pc 499 Bewley.
