I rather fancy making some apple wine, so if anyone has a glut from the allotment they don't know what to do with, get in touch and I shall be glad to split the final product with you in payment :)

I'm just filtering the last of 5 gallons of apple and blackberry wine It smells delicious and is well worth making,
best of luck with yours, mind you its so easy, luck doesn't come into it.
I've not been over the chase lately but there may be still some apples left over there, just walk up the paths on the right past the houses as you go into the chase from Brocton center, the lane opposite the shops.

Had a woodwork teacher at school who used the industrial sized processors in the school kitchens after school to make two dustbins full of cider. I remember helping him take the bins to his digs about 200 yards from school on a trolley we'd made in the woodwork classes.
He got into all sorts of bother over it.

Well it's on the way - I just bought supermarkets basics apples in the end, given they were only 82p a bag.

Many years ago, when the Pink Elephant was on Marston Road, we hired their bulk pulper after a bountiful harvest..

I believe that the farm at the back of Shugborough will juice quantities of fruit for you - it was referred to on here a while back. There was a sign by the Water Works..

We've got one of these crushers and a big press-thing that sends juice all over the floor. Last year it was all packed away for the move and I took our apples to the farm at Shugborough. It wasn't cheap but the juice was brilliant quality and kept very well. It was also much clearer than when we've done it ourselves. He seemed to prefer you to take quite a large quantity of apples. I suppose it is a big faff for smaller consignments. I had two big dustbins and a bin liner full and got the impression that was probably on the disappointing side.

Actually, I can see my fruit press** from here and I am not a million miles from Chateau Goldilox, if he wants to borrow it any time. I believe that the Shugborough juice squeezer chappy may pasteurise the juice - if that is true, then it may account for the keeping qualities..

**Very like this.
