Are you aware of Randles Suzuki Stafford?

Hi Everyone,

I am just doing a bit of research and wanted to ask if you knew that Randles Suzuki Stafford is based on Newport Road next to Tesco and opposite our Peugeot dealership?

We are looking at some long term plans to develop our site and many people we ask either
1. Don't know we are there
2. Know there is a dealership there but have no idea that we are genuine Suzuki Franchised Dealership.
3. Think it is Bostons (previous Franchisee's from about 5 years ago)
4. Think its a used car lot.

What's YOUR opinion.

Thanks in advance.

Gemma from Randles.

Admin edit: Thread title changed for clarity, to stop it becoming derailed with unrelated 'local area knowledge' posts.

Hi

I am aware of it, but can see the confusion as it isn't obvious. As (no offense intended) it looks like a small used car dealers site.

All the best

Hi there,

My thoughts exactly (No offense taken!) which it does sell used cars but they are firstly a franchised dealership which I think gets a little lost

We are starting to look at how we can enhance the site to make it more obvious as it is only a small site.

Thanks for your response.

Same things here I have to agree.

Small space with lots of cars out front....no real suzuki big signs to say its a dealership!

Thanks Alee. Its great to get a general overview on these things. Its pretty much what I expected.

If I had my way I would re-develop the site entirely as its a superb location but unfortuntely that's not in the pipeline anytime soon. (Maybe after our new site in Stoke opens I can push it along) Watch this space I suppose. :)

Thanks. We have tried to change this slightly now and have 3 of our top selling Models across the front now and there is a big Suzuki Sign at the front but think this gets lost as the Suzuki Sign is at the top. When you're in your car its easily lost. :)

There's been a few tried and failed businesses there - looks just like any of them unfortunately Gemma :( I think flattening and rebuilding would be the only option :(

I guess the money is made there selling the non - franchise stuff? - but I'd like to see the pitch with a better Suzuki / non franchise ratio.

Hi

I would suggest limiting the number and variety of cars on the forecourt would reduce the impression of a used car dealership.

Also doesn't help that the 'showroom' is fairly small in height and set far back, while also seemingly on lower ground than the road (quite possibly isn't, but that is the way it appears).

If money is available the possibly a false upper floor to increase the impact of the office might make things more obvious (and hide Tescos a bit).

All the best

I know you are there but have never visited.

The Suzuki signs give it away that you are franchised.

I know it's not Bostons as they, unfortunately, are no longer in existence since Derek decided that it was too difficult to sell cars in the current climate. Derek is now working at Platts on Tollgate.

Unfortunately it does look very "used car" due to the small size and lack of prominent buildings. The fact that it has previously been a used car lot doesn't help.

A few posts under my belt
I agree with everything the others say.

I have used Randles Peugeot for some time. I know that it is a Suzuki garage but it does look like a used car lot. Arthur Daily indeed. I reckon some more signage would help.

again, i have to agree with what basically everyone else is saying in regarsd to the used car garage look, i thought that's what you were there.

If you do go for more signage, please make it classy.
Not everyone business needs 6 signs saying the same thing to 'stand-out', just one well designed number will put you in good stead!

Good luck.

I agree with all that.

Plus where on earth do you park as a potential customer? Over the road at Peugeot?

I've often wondered that, too. It could also be a sod to get out of sometimes, if you did park there, unless you live up the Newport Road, maybe.

I did know that it was there, but only because I'm nosey. I would expect the general populace to be fairly unaware of the details..

How do I edit this?
I was aware there was a Randles Suzuki dealership, as my neighbours Suzuki has your logo on his spare wheel, however I'd never clocked it was that spot by Tescos. I even looked at one of the used cars there last time I changed mine a little over a year ago.

Pardon if i'm being a bit fick, but - if you sell used cars on that lot, doesn't that make it a used car lot?

For the rest of it, i'm with bbw (figuratively speaking), bar the intimate knowledge of Derek (he of Boston's apparently), his past woes, and present circumstances.

If you ONLY sell used cars then its a used car lot but Randles Suzuki is a franchised dealer which sells new Suzuki vehicles alongside the inevitable trade-ins.
