A neighbour of mine just missed out on buying a mates car because he had no idea that they were trading in it for a new one

The trade in price was rubbish apparently and my neighbour would have happily paid a lot more for it knowing its history

So...

On the off chance that any of you are doing something similar with a hatchback please post here

Last ones were 04 reg so the newest is going to be 12 years old. Mrs p had one, back in the day and it was very good at the time. However running costs were not cheap, even out of the dealer network, and I would imagine all but the very best examples now would be a money pit. The best examples, by the way, go for upwards of 5 grand!

Five grand?! Hell no. Audis do not stand the test of time, especially ones with turbocharged engines (basically all since about 2002). I agree with Proactive, absolute money pit. Spend 5 grand on something newer and japanese instead.

Ignore all my shiz. Car bought.

Still think this is a good thread though - a similar thing happened to my Dad a few years ago, he only got £400 trade in on a beefy Citroen when if we would of known he was trading it in, we would of paid at least a couple hundred more - he certainly would of got a lot more if he had sold it privately....
