Army Helicopters

Theres been lots of helicopters going over Wildwood area all this last week, during the daytime as well as a few at night.
Was wondering myself if something was going on.

Then the other morning I saw something absolutely STUPID out of my bedroom window! A light aircraft was diving towards the ground over Hillcroft Park area and I thought he was in difficulties and going to crash. The last minute he swerved back up and then was doing somersaults over the estate for quite some time. Are they allowed to mess around like that over housing estates?

I believe that the lower limit is 1,000 ft above cities, towns and settlements..

But 1,000 ft isn't actually that far.

Sometimes a " stunt " plane appears at Seighford gliding school and shows off. Could be him

For military aircraft, it used to be 250 ft for fixed wing and 50 ft for helicopters over open countryside..

Not sure if that still applies.

I wondered if the limits had been raised, actually. I certainly wouldn't want to charge about at 50 ft in the dark. There's trees, you know - and the odd pylon line..
