If you can find the good bit of the jetstream, it can give you a fair boost for no cost.

That's 832mph, in real miles.

It's equivalent to a tiny bit over Mach 1 (if it was in still air), in terms of the ground speed, which is what counts in airline terms.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have any really good colour photo's of the Gloster Javelin FAW.2 that was RAF Staffords gate guardian up until 1994 please?

I'm planning a build in 1/48 scale of it, but I'm a bit unsure on the engine nozzle section as the kit is for a FAW.9 and is totally different to a FAW.2.

This is just after my old house was removed, presumably to reduce the number of people wanting to visit it.

It was at the far end of the D-shaped road above the middle of the plane.
