Blue Ribbons on Lichfield Road?

I forgot to ask yesterday - does anyone know why there's loads of blue ribbons all the way down Lichfield Road? - I've only seen them from Queensville to Riverway but I'd assume they go further in each direction. It must have taken someone a LONG time to tie them all up! They are tied to all the lamp-posts, trees, sign-posts and anything else they could wrap a piece of ribbon around. Some have come off now or fallen down but I am very intrigued!

Indeed, the aforementioned ribbons are a mark of the Support Stafford Hospital ensemble, interestingly it is now reported to be up for grabs and the favoured bidder is none other than the NHS ! and to think i had my money on MaccyDs.......
