Boiler help required!

wanna see my snake?
My partners boiler is playing up, no hot water. A quick look inside shows the dial for hot water has been forced and broken the bit on the pcb that controls it. No problem, I can easily solder a new one on, but I have no idea what it's called and therefore what to ask for! Anyone care to look at the image below and tell me what the square blue variable resistor type thingies are, and where to find one?

Will leave him for the weekend but may have to call him tomorrow. Just annoying that I can trace the fault to a small component that I can swap myself just dunno where to buy one!

Just thought I have a baxi boiler in my scrap pile that while different should have the same components on its pcb. Let me know if you have problems finding the part and I'll see if I can take it off for you.

That would be a lifesaver mate, I've not found anything suitable myself yet. I was tempted to stick a bit of wire between the connections and just have it always on, but as I didn't have a multimeter and did have a cider I figured opening it up again was a bad idea!

The one on the board at the moment was buggered, had popped apart and 2 legs broken. Can only assume somebody had kept forcing it round. I tried to rebuild it, but was very stiff and the two legs on one side were snapped clean off.
