Britannia to close in Stafford?

Britannia name to disappear from high streets and 37 branches to close where they are within half a mile of another branch. This was always on the cards in Stafford as the branches are next door to each other. Britannia 'merged' with co-op bank a few years ago.

Maybe they could knock through?

Heard something about it ages ago, also that they had to take over some LLoyds TSB branches because Lloyds TSB had too many.
(Also remember Co-op Bank getting in trouble years and years ago!)

Wonder if we will still keep 2 Lloyds TSB branches in Stafford?

Hope my Lloyds account isn't moved over to the Co-op.Had the same account since I started work in 1972 and kind of got used to it!

The last time I was in Crewe, saw a Mini with: "Crewe's Missiles" (Classic Mini Owners Club) emblazoned on it, brought a smile to the old toffee shop.
