British Gas Meter Readings

On the 23rd August I had an email from British Gas asking me for correct meter readings and telling me that
my account was £48 in debit.

On the 27th August, I had another email thanking me for the readings and telling me what I had told them
about the correct readings.

On the 29th August, I had another message telling me that they could not update my account with the
correct readings despite having told me what they were on 27th August. I logged into my account and
my balance then was £45 in credit.

If you have had an estimated meter reading of late followed by giving them the correct readings, you might like to check your bill in some detail.

I just noticed first utility billed me this week, I left them on the 10th. Turns out they hadn't closed my gas account down properly and the guy on the phone was unable to do it, had no idea why. Means I've paid both companies this month :(
