POLICE have descended on a Stafford street and cordoned off the area.

A resident, who did not wish to be named, said around 5pm he noticed police cars at Browning Street.

He said: "There were police all over the place. There were about ten police cars and ambulances. Browning Street is cordoned off.

" A resident told me police had evacuated a few properties in the area."

The Newsletter has asked Staffordshire Police for more information but there is currently no one available to provide further details.

From the updated article: "The police were around the flat for about an hour and a half then a younger woman, mid 20s, ran out shouting 'she's in the kitchen' then about six to ten officers ran in. They carried out an older lady and she was taken into an ambulance."

As it happens, it turns out I'm Facebook friends with the mid 20s woman in question, she's posted a status alluding to the incident but has not outright explained it yet. I will keep the forum in the loop on any info she provides.

"Chief Inspector Jane Hewett, told the Newsletter: "Staffordshire police were assisting agencies from outside Staffordshire with concerns about a lady who was missing. The people she was staying with did not divulge she was staying there. She had complex needs. A situation did develop, but has been resolved and the lady is now in the care of the appropriate services.""
