Building plot wanted around Stafford - anyone know of land anywhere?

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a building plot around Stafford to build our next home on. The are lots of possible areas round, we're not really fussy but someone's back garden won't do and that's all that's being advertised at the moment.

If anyone knows anyone around town with land to spare and would consider selling anything between 400m2 and an acre, please let me know. No planning permission needed, we'll consider anything. Money is waiting for a quick easy sale and anyone who gives me a useful lead on here gets a pint :)

Thanks!

Hi username,

There are various places dotted around Stafford that were earmarked for being built on that are on hold because of the current economical climate, if it were me I'd maybe look at the planning applications for the last couple of years and see if anythings happened and then approach the applicants to see if they want to sell the land they might even know of someone thats approached them to sell land to.

There was a relatively large site demolished ready and being prepared build on Rowley Street where to the best of knowledge nothing has happened on for ages. The council put in a application ages ago to build housing on Frairs terrace where the library buildings are and on the car park across the street and not a jot has happened. Behind that car park, and the back of Tesco's car park there is a large old railway building up for sale which i suppose may have some land that could be worth looking at. Also there is an old Warehouse converted into offices for sale on Telegraph street which has a large car park attached which i think may belong to it, maybe they might sell you a bit of the car park land to build on.

Don't know if these suggestions are any good but I'd much rather see some nice interesting builds and family homes going up around town rather than the build cheap and run buildings that seems to adored by the planning departments. Good luck to you I hope you find somewhere.

Hi username, welcome to Stafford Forum. :)

Good luck getting the information you need, I'm sure a few people round here will be able to offer advice. I'm intrigued as to how you've managed to get -1 Stafford Points so early in the game, however!

I'm on -2 now! Not sure what that's all about! Thanks for the advice so far. I've already looked at some Darben mentioned but they aren't really suitable for what we're looking for. Acouple of the others sound interesting though and I'll be checking them out in the morning. Checking planning apps for works that haven't started is a very good idea too so I'll definitely be investigating that approach :)

Ideally we're looking for somewhere just out of the town and with a bit of green - somewhere like the corner of a field in Salt would do nicely, especially with the Holly Bush up the road! The are a lot of greener areas further in town (like Rowley Avenue) but most land is in use and would be out of our budget for a decent size plot I think. One day something will turn up, I'm sure of it :D

The only building plot I know of is on Crab Lane and the Eccleshall Road. It was listed at £125,000 and I believed had planning permission.

Not the green space you were asking for but a decent size plot.

I have information on land with permission for a number of dwellings around a mile from the town centre

Perhaps you could let me know of your budget, or if you are interested in a larger project like this

Thanks for the help so far everyone, I wasn't expecting such useful responses! The crab lane plot was too restricted size wise (and over priced), the plot Lucy mentioned we are viewing this afternoon and John I have sent you an email in hope of getting some more details.

Thanks everyone!
