Bully For Rangers

So I hear Steve Bull is interested in the managers job at Rangers, may be just the kind of boost we need!

Upon looking into it, think it's us that want him!!

Hey, neat. Reckon they should hire him as a player-manager, because the Rangers seem to need all the experience they can get...

Ive been a Wolves fan for 30 years now and bein a Stafford lad have followed the fortunes of the Rangers as well and get to see em when i can (their home games always seem to clash with the wolves home games).
Bully would make a great manager and i think that the Rangers could do a damn site worse.
Fraid as a player manager, no chance, his poor old knees have seen better days.

Bully for manager? I'll sit firmly on the fence.
But Bully as a 42 year old player manager? ... We don't need him 43 year old Neil Grayson is still banging them in! Two wins on the trot for the mighty Boro'. You never know the great escape may be on.

I personally have littele interest in the Rangers but go a couple of times a season.

Due to the form of the mighty Potters i have only been once this season.

Good luck to them though.

Rangers fans waiting for the puff of white smoke indicating the appointment of a bovine leader, report that the said legend's car has been parked outside the ground all day. A press meeting is being called for Thursday 11.00 at Marston Road!

The omens look positive. Assuming of course that one thinks the appointment of The Tipton Terrier is a good thing. ;) An unprecedented degree of media coverage is guaranteed.

ive just seen this on the bbc pages- ive got to admit ive just had a little gasp and a flutter as i read it....nothing to do with having a school gril crush on bully for years!

lets face it, the guy is a local legend and is sure to bring some much needed kudos and confidence to the club.

i saw the league tables when i was at work last friday and was disappointed to see how far down the table rangers actually were.

they always get a one woman woot off me when we have sky sports on. :)

right, i know nothing about football, so i may be wildly off the mark here, but does anyone know if this "bull" chap lived in stafford? shortly after my parents moved to the "new" estate on wildwood (1990, then known as "the chestnuts") there were rumours that the chap at the end of our drive, with the big car with blacked-out windows, was the wolves' boss.. just wondering if that was him, and if so if there were any truth in the rumours!

Bully was a Wolves player, not the manager. He does have some sort of connection with Stafford, though. I remember a signed photo of him behind the bar at The Lamb (RIP).

...and here's confirmation...

Express & Star said:
Steve Bull today breezed into Stafford and declared he’d love a stand named after him there – before one day taking the Wolves job.

The record Wolves scorer has been appointed to the hot-seat of the Blue Square Premier strugglers until the end of next season.

But the 42-year-old legend, who has a stand named after him at Molineux, wants to achieve the same cult status as a manager as he enjoyed as a player.

“I haven’t got a stand named after me here – not yet!

“If I could do anything like the same for Stafford that would be unbelievable,†said Bull.

“I know what’s going to happen if I start to do well here, people will say ‘Get Bully in as the next Wolves manager’.

“I think the Wolves job is a long way off for me.

“I’ve got to work hard at this – I’ve not had any experience of dealing with transfers or managing players so it’s going to take a bit of time.

“But you never know what’s around the corner and you never say never.

“Wolves know I’d love to manage them one day, although I don’t know whether Mr Morgan does.â€

Bull is convinced he can be a success as a manager.

“I’d love to be a success at it, but you only get there by hard work,†he said.

“You work hard, you win people’s respect and you get paid for it. It’s the same with the fans – they demand hard work on the field and loyalty off it.

“Hopefully Stafford will find that with me – I’m down to earth, hardworking and people will say “we want to support this ladâ€.

“I’d say to my critics: ‘Believe in Steve Bull’. I’m not one for putting my foot in it, I like to get things done and talk about it later.

“I’d rather talk about that though when I’ve kept the club up.â€

Bull is certain Stafford can stay up despite the club being 11 points from safety – and chairman John Downing says his job is safe even he takes the club down.

“I seriously think they have got a good chance,†he said.

“If they do stay up, superb because it’s a massive drop down and no one wants to get relegated and being local as well, want to keep them up.â€

Bull has elected to keep current caretakers Neil Grayson and Kevin Street until at least the end of the season as he settled into his new job.

Will they be tending to the buildings and other such caretaker dutys?

I'm sure the boro faithfull are gratefull to Grayson and Street for their hard work over the past few weeks, and hopefully they can keep up their goalscoring form on the pitch!
