Burglar Alarm

I have a burglar alarm that needs moving. I am removing a built in wardrobe but unfortunately the alarm has been attached to one of the panels inside and I can't finish removing the wardrobe until its sorted. It only needs to be moved a few inches away from where it is now. I have had an electrician have a look at it but he says I need someone who deals with burglar alarms.

There's a place on the Wolverhampton / Lichfield road island, think it's called cress alarms.

Will the new position require the wires to be longer? If not, then it should be possible to demolish around it and reposition it without any disconnection.

I was half right.
Usually good enough.

I have ( under considerable pressure ) rebuilt an alarm that had had the wiring severed and I was surprised by how easy it was. I expected to need codes that weren't known to the owner, etc., but, in the event, I didn't, and it all worked. The hardest bit was getting the detectors back into the right zones as nothing was identified. It did go off twice during this undertaking - prompting attempted rescues by passing members of the public, but it all worked in the end and has done for the last five years..

What type of alarm is it Mrs M?

If its going to cost a lot (+£100) then might be worth scrapping altogether and getting a new wireless one?
