Can anyone recommend a good mortgage advisor?

i have found the perfect house but need to speak to a mortgage advisor about it asap to know whether or not to sell my house!! i used an independant mortgage advisor when i bought my current house, but hes not doing it anymore!! can anyone recommend me anyone?

Heather Dunn at AMG Financial is very personable and gives independent advice. Recommend.

We have used Heather Dunn also when she was with Bradford and Bingley and then Nicholsons.
Found her very good.
Have seen a couple of duffers too.
But best by a long way for me was Stephanie at Reed Rains.
Rubbish estate agency in my opinion, but she was very good even though very early on, it was determined that we wouldn't be moving our mortgage, and that there would be no commission.

Why not just go online and arrange it yourself? Twice the estate agents have blagged us in to seeing the mortgage advisor and both times we could go direct and get it cheaper ourselves.

Was thinking the same myself grumpy, but some people don't want to get their hands dirty....

I personally would search my own best deal, but thats because i've seen my fair share of shyster brokers trying to push me into mortgages that they made the most comission off... dishonest fools!

we used derrick at bridgefords for our first house and found the help useful, although despite saying there are no charges there is a "admin fee" and the insurances offered may be found cheaper else where.

if its your first house i would go to him.

Do you know what sort of mortgage you are looking for?

I would be happy to have a quick look to give you something to compare against if you tell me how much mortgage you need and what the purchase price is.

(I have no financial qualifications BTW, just willing to give you some ideas for further investigation).

Eventually got our mortgage through Isabel Stewart of Reeds Rains as we got a better deal that through Steve Morgan. Isabel is very good at what she does but I will say, as a cautionary measure, that she only seems to work 3 days a week and thus can be a little difficult to get hold of.
