my old Bush died last night halfway through the magnificently proportioned Sarah Beeney's dialogue

Can you still buy portble televisions for the sideboard in the second bedroom?

I am also wondering if analog is about to vanish too

Do I have to start dealing with digital boxes? I am, as you may have already worked out, specialist at not understanding technology. Where would you suggest I shop? Online and hope the bastard thing lasts more than a fortnight, or locally so I can embarress myself when it packs up.

( I thank you for your interest )

That one I listed, whilst I have no actual experience of the model in question, appears to do what you need. It has a digital receiver built in, it has every connection on it you'd need, and has a 3 year warranty.

Shopping online is cheaper, shopping locally means they can't fob you off if it goes wrong. I've used this firm since around 2000 and have very rarely had problems, but I'd still shop around. Give me a screen size required and a budget and I'll see what I can find for you.

Unless you buy from PC World / Currys.....
I dunno, if I ever did buy from them (shudders) I'd go feckin mental at whichever oik tried to fob me off. Saying that, I was in PC World looking for a new MP3 player last week and the guy who came to see if I was OK was very helpful. Asked what I was after, tried to find something and when he realised they had nothing in stock (checkd the PC for all nearby stores too) didn't try to sell me anything else. Can't fault that at all TBH.

Sorry mr tek I hadnt realised you had left me a link in your message

We dont have an aerial in the East wing which is why I have relied so heavily on the old Bush portable

Will I be able to use this TV independently of any connection other than electricity?

I have a powered (i.e. signal boosted) TV antenna which is fairly good, I bought it for my PC but frankly i never use it so if you want to take it off my hands you're more than welcome.

Edit: This one

It appears her ladyship has been active in the 'phone a man to put up a new digital aerial' field, and has some quotes, is there anyone I should avoid?

Gramaisc (how do you pronounce that by the way - gram-eh-sick?)

Your link simply brings up the store locator for me.

Grumoshk - or thereabouts.

The link works for me, brings up the 7" rechargeable portable LCD TV @ £89.99. Look in Specials for it on 'from Monday 29/06'. I usually try my links as soon as I've posted them, just in case, and this worked then and still works now, and it's not even geo-blocked like RTÉplayer....

Anybody else having trouble with it?

How many times do we hear "well the link works for me" from you, Gramaisc? Just put in Stafford and it will give you the special offers for the week.

I can highly NOT recommend Pickups in Mill Bank, how they continue to trade is beyond me.....

I've just tried it again and it goes straight to it for me. Clearly, I must be availing of special access arrangements.
