Oh, and another thing....over the next couple of days they're spending £50,000 on the interior fixtures and fittings etc! I'd forgotten, but have just walked past and things are underway. It's a huge investment, and I really hope that they get the custom to justify the improvements.

Just looked over their menu, and found their Chicken Supreme. Its a chicken fillet, stuffed with haggis and topped with bacon and a whiskey sauce. OMG, I'm there!

I think I've just found my birthday meal.

Because of his post I actually phoned that butcher on the Sandon road yesterday, they have some proper haggis in so I may have to visit them soon

Just a thought, but as everybody now seems impressed with the food is the original comment still valid on the Stafford Foodie Guide? Not eaten there myself yet so can't comment, but the current listing says:

Slightly expensive for the quality of food, but worth a try.

Well, having seen the revamped Castle Tavern I have to say I am mightily impressed! How they managed to do so much in such little time I don't know. The only remaining problem is the music....it literally went from Boney M to Eminem!

Hmmm, dunno what to say about the music. Although its still a bar, you can't really have a jukebox as it'll also cover the restaurant side. Unless it was a very specific jukebox. Wonder if they'd play some cradle of filth while I ate?

Was in earlier with work (inc Dylanf), have to say the decor is looking a lot better. Forgot to check out the main restaurant though, will have to do that another time. Food was great, as was the service. Hope it all goes well for you Ashley.

I took my mother and my partner there for a Castle Tavern Griddle a week or so ago. Excellent meal, and great value too. We'll certainly be back!

Me and the misses love it. £4.95 for steak and chips from the bar menu, you can't beat that anywhere surely for price and quality.
